Learning is the basis of our existence and survival on this planet. Author Oliver Holmes once said "Man's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions." The truth behind this quote has lead mankind from carving out primitive tools in caves, to building space stations and extending the average life expectancy beyond what was thought possible.

Here at Atlan we are excited about being a part of the process of learning, and understand the responsibility of creating systems that facilitate human development.

Amongst our company's core principles it has always been to strive to put the learning before the "e". This means that the educational aims of each project are the basis of the technologies we build. All too often, e-learning products are caught up in flashy features, poorly conceived mechanics or have steep learning curves that distract learners from their originally intended purpose. As any experienced teacher knows, learning takes place only when a learner has thought about the learning objectives in a meaningful way and applies them in different contexts. The main goal of our products and services are too enable just that, in a way that appeals to 21st century "Information Age" learners.
